LESLIE BARY teaches Spanish and Latin American literature at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Her translations of modern poetry and literary manifestos include Oswald de Andrade’s Cannibalist Manifesto (1991), Pedro Granados’ SUNREDSUN (2020) and César Moro’s The Equestrian Turtle (forthcoming). She writes on modernist poetry and representations of race, and is a prisoners’ rights advocate when not at school.

INDRAN AMIRTHANAYAGAM (www.indranmx.com) writes in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese and Haitian Creole. He has published  20 poetry books, including Blue Window, The Migrant States (www.hangingloosepress.com), Coconuts on Mars,  The Elephants of Reckoning (winner 1994 Paterson Poetry Prize), Uncivil War and.The Splintered Face: Tsunami Poems.  In music, he recorded Rankont Dout.  He edits  the Beltway Poetry Quarterly (www.beltwaypoetry.com); curates www.ablucionistas.com; writes https://indranamirthanayagam.blogspot.com; co-directs Poets & Writers Studio International, writes a weekly poem for Haiti en Marche and El Acento; has received fellowships from the Foundation for the Contemporary Arts, the New York Foundation for the Arts, The US/Mexico Fund for Culture and the Macdowell Colony. JENNIFER RATHBUN, poet and translator, is a Professor of Spanish and Chair of the Department of Modern Languages and Classics at Ball State University in Indiana. She received her PhD at the University of Arizona specializing in Contemporary Latin American Literature. Rathbun is the translator of sixteen poetry books, editor of two anthologies of poetry and author of the poetry collection El libro de traiciones / The Book of Betrayals (2021).

PEDRO GRANADOS has published poetry since 1978 (Sin motivo aparente); and there are already fifteen collections of poems: Vía expresa, Soledad impura, Roxosol as well as recents ones, La mirada (Buenos Aires: BAP, 2020) and Amerindios / Amerindians (NYC: Arte Poética Press, 2020), which has been partially translated into Portuguese, English and German. He has also published several short novels (Prepucio carmesí, Un chin de amor, Una ola rompe, Boston Angels, !Fozi lady!, among others). His critical books include Poéticas y utopías en la poesía de César Vallejo [PhD thesis for Boston University, 2003] (Lima: PUCP, 2004), Trilce: húmeros para bailar (2014), and “Trilce / Teatro: guión, personajes y público,” an essay that won the Mario González Prize from the Associação Brasileira de Hispanistas (2016). Since 2014 he has presided over the “Vallejo sin Fronteras Institute” (VASINFIN). He currently lives in Lima, Peru. His talk is entitled “My Animals.”
